This bench is steel, NOT sturdy cast iron with a okay black powder coated finish. The welding joints are very visible where it is joined together. Recommended for covered porch only as a decorative bench due to the lattice back is made out of black PLASTIC, not steel. The lattice will fade over time from the UV rays from the sun. We found it will not seat two adult comfortably.
