Misleading and old technology
Our club has Digitrax and I have NCE (North Coast Engineering) on my home layout. Bought this unit to use on the club layout. Digitrax is misleading about being wireless since you have to plug in to for the command station to recognize the throttle every time you use it. NCE does not require plugging in for the command station to recognize the throttle. I have used my NCE throttles on a couple of different NCE command stations on several layouts without having to plug in. Digitrax is more difficult to MU than NCE. Digitrax throttle can only run two trains at one time where an NCE throttle can run up to six. Digitrax eats up expensive 9 volt batteries in a few hours where NCE uses four AAA batteries which last a couple of months. In general Digitrax is old and expensive technology ... Unit is a multi function throttle. It can be challenging to learn, but like all things, time and patience will lead to a greater enjoyment of your locomotives. Especially with the newer locomotive models with multi functioning lights and sounds, this throttle is great running on a digitrax layout. I have been able to us this throttle on multiple club track layouts with no issues.

Love this throttle. I use it mostly for programming but occasionally use it for operating trains. It does what it is designed to do and does it well. Highly recommend all Digitrax products. I've had the same system components for over 20 years and they are totally reliable. I have NOT had to replace any part of the system or had to have them repaired.
