If you've already got DeWalt cordless tools....
I like the cordless feel - no cord pulling when working on something while on a ladder. I bought this as a bare tool, and it has held up well in the past year. The efficacy of most saws are dependant on the tool - a cheap $20 saw of any sort will cut well if you are using a good blade, and the saw won't cut a banana if your blade is shot. The truth is in the long term use. Will a $20 saw be working a year from now after a lot of use and a few drops off the ladder? Meh.... probly not. Great value for non professional
I have had tools with brushes with brushes all my life and they have stood up well. This saw has brushes as well but is great to be cordless. It works well has lots of power and will do me for years.
