A series of gruesome murders has brought terror to a small, sleepy town, and they are made all the more horrible by the method by which they are documented. The killer stalks his victims with a video camera, surveilling their every move before he strikes; he then sends a tape of the killing to his next victim. Jessie St. Clair (Racheal Leigh Cook, GET CARTER) is a green young reporter who sees her shot at a big break and goes for it, launching an investigation into the murder of a topless dancer; she is assisted by her cameraman Rob (Kip Pardue, THE HEART IS DECEITFUL ABOVE ALL THINGS) and her producer Jane Berger (Annabella Sciorra, JUNGLE FEVER). But before Jessie gets any closer to the truth, she receives a videotape in the mail, and she knows she's next on the killer's list. As tensions mount and the murderer closes in, the whole crew begins to suspect one another; the arrival of solitary reporter Albert Bodine (Cary Elwes, THE PRINCESS BRIDE), sent by the nationally syndicated show AMERICAN CRIME, only serves to heighten their misgivings. Refreshing Change For The Myster Genre
A lot say they didn't like the plot to this movie. However, I feel this is because the plot is very different from a standard mystery. This isn't your typical mystery where everything is neatly resolved, explained and given to you in the end. Rather this is a mystery that gives the viewers a chance to think for themselves which is a refreshing twist. During the entire movie you are constantly changing your view on who committed the murders. If you don't focus on the plot and pay attention during the movie then you likely won't figure it out and become frustrated with the plot. I wouldn't say the entire movie was excellent since there are a few issues when it comes to acting, but overall the camera work was unique and the plot was something you don't see every day. Good movie, cheesy set up (TV show), I recommend a good watch
American Crime is a good movie but I didn't like how it was set up, like a TV show. Good plot line and left me thinking at the end who the killer was. I suspected it was the blond reporter and the camera guy together. Something I would recommend watching. Maybe you think the killer is someone else perhaps?

It would be a crime to buy this!
This movie is Bad ,Bad ,Bad wierd way to do the plot, the main (?) character is CREEPY and I don't think that's what they were going for! I did like the Lezy sceen, but that's it.
