Pros .... wonderful battery life. I've found on average that the batteries run about 4 bucks a piece, but you get 3 years of battery life and that is with the Dot CONSTANTLY on. I will change mine out every year though, as recommended by others I know who own one of these, as a "just to be sure" type of thing. But I use my optic professionally. But even with changing the battery once a year though, that's 4 dollars per year for a constant on red dot. Great quality. Feels very well built and solid. No sloppy machining marks or rough edges/ burs. The knob on the mount is very easy to tighten down snug by hand and mounts the Optic solid to the rifle. There is no slop or wiggle once it's tightened down. The added flip up lens covers are a nice plus. This thing looks good as well.

After trying this product i notice that the red dot is not a red dot. it looks more like a bird beak, it gets really annoying to try and look at your target through the "red beak" the point when dimmed is too dim to view even at night. you have to click around 6x to get a best view, at 7 the beak appears bright and annoys , so i personally am unsatisfied, please do not call it a red dot because it's not. Please share your experience with this product as well!

This sight is rugged and will get the job done. I have purchased less expensive sights and have had mixed results. For around $400.00 there are very few sights of this quality. I do have Eotech, and Trijicon sights. The Trijicon is twice the price and the Eotech while a tad cheaper has considerably less battery life. The large knob on the side prevents over torquing so you will never damage the mount, as a bonus it can be operated with gloves on. The sight is at the perfect height so you can deploy your back up sights (I use a Matech rear sight which is standard military issue and a YHM gas block flip up front sight) and can sight right thru the Aimpoint. Convenient for a failure mode or for longer ranges. Do yourself a favor and just get the sight, you will be happy.

This optic looks and feels like the top quality that is. It is rugged, accurate, and extremely well-made. The only negative thing I could say about it is, it's a little pricey. Sure, quality costs money, but $425 just seems a bit high for this device. I would have expected to pay about $100 less for it, but since I cannot find a brand new one for less than the price I paid for it, then that's the price I was forced to pay if I really wanted one (and I did really want one!). Aimpoint makes exceptional quality optics, and I would not want to put anything of less quality on my M4 carbine. I highly recommend this to anyone who can afford it, and who wants only the finest quality optic on their rifle or carbine!

What a great scope for the money. Mounted it on my flat top AR. I'm using magpul Mbus flip up iron sights which cowitness perfect. You can leave this scope powered on and the battery life is supposed to be 3 years on the medium power setting. Scope looks and feels solid and very durable. The built in ratchet on the mount is awesome, just remember your mounting location on your rail and the scope stays zeroed if you need to take it off and on. I highly recommend this red dot.
