After reading reviews I was hesitant to buy an xtra mag, so I went with S/S. It was pretty sticky at first and I thought ya I got a bad one too. But tenacity running the bolt a few dozen times seems to have things working fine, tho I'm still not ready for the 10rd version. QUICK SHIPPING. And I'll save you as a seller. Thanks.

Spend the extra $ on a stainless version. And keep your fingers crossed.

I've read pro's and con's on these Savage magazines. Not feeding, jamming, tilted bullets, etc. The Model 93 came with a blued mag which I considered of lesser quality, so I ordered a stainless version. Both work fine. Altho initially, the entire action on the brand new rifle was a bit disappointing. These days, who can afford to spit out a few hundred rounds to "break in" their guns of ANY caliber? So I took as much as I could apart and polished the components (bolt, etc) which I recommend. And before you blame the magazine, cycle it through as many times as possible - lubing everything, loading, working the action (if possible without firing). In my case, a bolt action - I just kept loading and ejecting ammunition. After a few mags worth, things started loosening up. I really don't feel ...

  • Savage 17 HMR Magazine

The Savage original magazine in a strong and robust piece of equipment. I'm sure that I will not need to replace it due to manufacturing procedures or due to wear. I have used this magazine for more than 450 rounds and have seen no deterioration or deformation of the equipment. The magazine is easy to disassemble, clean and reassemble. I like equipment made to these standards. Ron

  • These work as intended

After reading some people have had trouble with clips feeding correctly I recommend brand name - not after market clips - and I recommend these clips as they perform flawlessly. You can't go wrong with these!

  • Good product. Buy it. A pocket full of loaded mags is a good thing. Right

Stainless mag. Very tight fit with my rifle. Requires many inserts and removals to ease it up. Use oil and keep working it. All the stainless Savage mags I have used where the same, this is a plus. Tight fit, no rocking.

  • Duh Clkip

It's shiny and easy to see when you drop it in the grass. Each one might require a little modification as every gun is a bit different. Once this is done and you are surrounded by evil gophers the only issue is keeping it full of ammunition. Remember it's socially irresponsible to not be prepared.
