About this product

Product Information

If you enjoy the power of good music and its ability to immediately brighten any mood, you’ll definitely appreciate the thought and consideration put into the design of the Onkyo DX-C390. This 6-disc carousel CD player not only holds a handful of your favorite CDs but the changer has an internal memory that allows for programming of up to 40 tracks. Save your favorite songs directly to the CD changer for hours of listening pleasure, whether you’re jamming by yourself or entertaining friends. Such a large storage capacity means that Onkyo needed to design an innovative system to support high-frequency usage. Flexible playlist creation, high-precision VQA support, and a number of customizable playback modes proves that the DX-C390 was built specifically for your enjoyment. Even after blasting your soundtracks all night long, the built-in Vector Linear Shaping Circuitry (VLSC) awards a crystal-clear audio experience. For added protection, Onkyo also designed a sturdy protection system to shield the high-quality cables used to transmit that crisp audio signal. A heavy-duty chassis and stylish brushed aluminum faceplate do more than enhance the appeal of this player. More importantly, they keep the Onkyo DX-C390 safe from the motions of its internal circuits. You’re sure to enjoy the unprecedented auditory display presented by this 6-disc carousel CD player song after song, play after play. Depending on your mood, you’re free to preselect the tracks you wish to hear from the stored 40-track memory. Better yet, if you find yourself inspired in the middle of your favorite song, take advantage of the 6-disc changer’s ability to change up to five discs while the last one is still playing. You’ll never miss a beat with the DX-C390 and its audiophile-grade components. Precision playback, a multi-bit D/A converter, and powerful 128x oversampling are just a few ways this CD player’s output impresses its users. After hearing the power behind its Vector Linear Shaping Circuitry, you’ll find plenty of reasons to put the six different repeat modes programmed into the changer to good use. Supported by the Direct Digital Path heavy-shielded cables, every song will sound smoother than ever before. The DX-C390 plays CD-R/W discs as well as MP3s. It’s also compatible with Red Book Audio CDs, lengthening the list of compatible accessories users can connect to the 6-disc changer. With its 192 kHz/24-bit AD converters, you’ll experience an extremely powerful digital to analog conversion. Marvel at the dynamic 120 dB range serenading you from the device’s speakers. The audio is so crisp that you’ll jump at the opportunity to pair the rest of the electronic accessories in your home theater. Thankfully, its performance isn’t limited to aesthetic appeal. The internal system of the Onkyo DX-C390 actually enhances the way your entertainment is played. It processes information faster than ever and nearly eliminates static or delays. That means there is no more juggling controls for all of your accessories one by one. Now you can control your prized collection of accessories with the touch of a button. Even better, users looking to stream music or video from the iPhone or iPod can easily connect their devices to the built-in Onkyo RI Dock. In a flash, your Apple device now benefits from Onkyo’s high-quality speakers that offer fuller sound that you wouldn’t receive from headphones alone.

    Still love playing CD's

My old Sony CD changer was on its last leg so it was time to get a replacement. I looked to buy another Sony but could not find one and decided on this Onkyo. It was easy to set up and can handle 6 discs whereas the Sony only handled 5. The Onkyo is a little bit bigger than the Sony, but not a biggie. The sound it very clear with an optical cable. I haven't tried playing MP3's yet, but it handles CD's great and is faster than the my old Sony when doing so. If you are thinking about getting a CD changer, I would recommend you don't wait too long to get one. Seems like the audio manufacturers are not making that many any more and may be discontinuing them entirely.

    Lemon Onkyo DX-C390

The unit stopped playing on my 3rd CD. I had just unpacked the unit fresh from the box and started playing? I tried all the CDs in the unit's tray and none played. I tried all same CDs from the Onkyo to my other CD player, which played alll normally. I had Onkyo tecnical support trouble shoot my problem, after following instruction from manual. None really solved the unusual issue. My first unusual experience to have such brand new becoming defect permanently just playing on 3rd CD. Onkyo did not honor warranty repair because I bought it outside of its Indpendent Authorized Dealer. I had to shoulder repair. Adam's Electronic confirm I had to pay myself 100%. Lemon quality!

  • Deal of the Day

My current CD changer was eighteen years old and getting tired. I was in the market for a new unit when I read several reviews on the DX-390 by Onkyo. They were all very positive. It also holds six discs which I consider a plus and I also learned that it was larger than most units because of this feature. After hooking it up I am more than pleased with its sound, ease of operation and appearance. Despite the larger size it fits in my audio rack with no problem. At the price I paid it truly was the deal of the day.

  • Better than some more expensive options

For the money, a good unit. Metal faceplate, easy to operate, and it's six disc, not 5. The performance is improved by inclusion of an outboard d/a converter (I use a Marantz DAC). Originally ordered a Yamaha piece, but returned (shoddy build, less feature options & cost twice as much) & replaced with this Onkyo. Recommended.

  • Reasonably priced and performs perfectly with my stereo system

I had a difficult time finding a cd-changer at the local stores in my area and knew I would have to order on line. After much research, I decided on this product. I've had it several months and am very pleased with it. It performs perfectly for me. It is easy to use. Unlike my old changer, it lets me move backwards and forward on a song in play - kind of like a "rewind" on a tape recorder. Kind of a nifty feature if you want to hear just part of a song. It has the standard programmable features you expect, such as a random play as well. Overall, I'd recommend this to anyone who wants a cd changer for general use. I think it is reasonably priced and it fits my needs perfectly - which means it gets about 20 hours use a week. I would purchase this again.
