The hardest thing about improving your posture is being mindful of slouching. For most of us, bad posture is automatic. We simply do not think about it. This item does a fantastic job making you mindful of your posture. It is not perfect, as you have to re-baseline your posture when you transition from sitting to standing. With all that said, I would recommend it to anyone who wants to improve their posture.

The device itself works fine, and did not require me to download the app in order to use. I had to search online to get basic instructions; they don't come with the box. It was very easy to use. The device reminds me to straighten up, whether I'm slouching forward or leaning backwards. It is comfortable to wear. The device is designed to turn itself off, and if I am still for too long it will turn off, but it is easy to turn back on so that is not a problem. Be advised that the phone app is no longer supported. But the device works without the app; you just can't use the app-supported features like personalization and step-counter.

Most of the time the Lumo Lift works. I like the posture reminders, and the step tracker as well. Sometimes it runs out of battery life during the middle of the day. No pattern. It works 90% of the time and then there is that odd day when it malfunctions in the middle of day. More troubling is the customer service. I had a lumo lift completely die -- it would not charge at all and it took weeks for me to get through their customer service "checklist" before they would finally allow me to return the product for a replacement. It was one thing after another, but just exhausting. Made me give serious thought to switching to fitbit.

I got one at the advice of my chiropractor. I had some issues getting mine to pair with the app (I purchased a used one), but after uninstalling and reinstalling it, it worked, and setup was a snap after that. The app is minimalist while still allowing you to customize your Lumo experience. Once you put the device on, you set the target posture, and go about your day. As you sit, stand, and move around throughout the day, you will have to set your target posture again, but that is easily achieved by pressing the one button on the device, which can be done through your clothes, and you get clear haptic feedback, so you know you were successful. Constantly having to set your target posture was kind of annoying at first, but I quickly got used to it. The pedometer feature is notorious at under-counting steps, but I didn't buy it for that. I've had it for about a week, and my posture has already begun to improve. I would definitely buy it again.Read full review

Well designed, friendly and functional software. An improvement could be to redesign using 2 magnets or a safety pin design. That could prevent frequently rearranging the gadget on one’s clothes hopefully?
