I wish there were more beginner projects. Some of them get rather complicated. I do refer to it for help though.

I bought this book specifically for knitting socks. This book covers small and medium sizes. No large sizes and none for men either! So, I'll still have to buy another book and buy one of those adjustable looms.

New to loom knitting I chose this book based on it being for beginners. The book does well in the introduction portion in the front and then moves into easy projects followed by ones a bit more challenging. One complaint about this book is that it is not set up in a linear logical fashion - at least by my understanding. Bits of related information are in different parts of the book. There are a few things yet that remain a mystery to me that should be explained - maybe I just haven't found it yet. But once you know where to find the info you're looking for this book turns into a valuable reference tool. Another disappointment I have with this book is that it is disproportionately set up to accommodate the circular looms and not the long looms. Perhaps there is a good reason for this but the long looms was what I was most interested in. Many of the stitches used on the circular loom are usable on the long loom with minor adjustments. Still it would have been nice to have had the long looms more fully addressed as those minor adjustments are important ones. The quality of the illustrations are clear and concise and the actual "feel" of the paper is excellent. I recommend this book for beginners but use it in conjunction with some of the videos and info on the internet to get your self set up in the looming art.Read full review
I had bought some knitting looms at a thrift store, but didn't know how to use them. A friend had shown me a hat she had made using this book. I borrowed the book from her for a few weeks. I really liked the variety of patterns and the directions were easy to follow, in fact even easier than the ones that came with the looms. My 14 yr old made two scarves in just a few days, and she has autism. It is hard to find projects she can do independently. I liked the colorful photos of finished projects, as well as the simple diagrams. Since I didn't want to damage my friends book, I searched the local bookstores. Even Barnes and Nobles didn't have it. I ordered one for myself on eBay. I am really glad I did.
I am very new to loom knitting and this book was recommended to me be a few groups I'm involved in. In my opinion, the book is a bit expensive but it is full of very good and useful information. It has easy to follow step by step instuctions and clear pictures for us visual learners! Isela did a fantastic job on this book and I know the next one will be just as good!
