About the Infinity BassLink Mini

Alexander H.

Infinity bass in a small package

Infinity believes that everyone deserves great bass, even if your vehicle isn't exactly "roomy". That's why they designed the Infinity BassLink Mini — a shallow 6"x8" woofer in a compact enclosure that packs in a whopping 100 watts of RMS power. Install it under just about any seat and you'll be adding a whole lotta punch to your system. Plus, Infinity knows that a car floor isn't the tenderest of settings, so they employ a die-cast anodized aluminum enclosure and metal grille to protect the speaker from accidental damage.

Keep on top of that bass

The low-pass filter, adjustable bass boost, and phase switch help you dial in your sound. Line- and speaker-level inputs with switchable load give you multiple options for wiring your system. The included wiring harness simplifies installation, and a wired remote control lets you adjust the sub's volume from the driver's seat. When you need to bring modern bass response to the cramped spaces of today's vehicles, the BassLink Mini delivers great sound in an easy-to-fit package.

Important Note: You'll need a wiring kit to install this Infinity powered sub.

Features

Overview: The Infinity BassLink Mini compact powered subwoofer features a single 6" x 8" driver powered by a 100W RMS (200W Peak) built-in amplifier, and housed in a compact sealed enclosure that's designed to fit under seats and in tight spaces.

  • Note: The Infinity BassLink Mini does not include any wiring; a 10-gauge amp wiring kit is recommended and must be purchased separately.

Enclosure Type and Materials: The sealed enclosure is made of all-die-cast aluminum that allows it to be compact while eliminating rattles and vibrations.

Class D Amplifier: This unit has a built-in 100 watt Class D amplifier which is highly efficient and designed specifically for use with the included 6" x 8" subwoofer driver.

Audio Inputs: The Infinity BassLink Mini features both low-level RCA inputs as well as speaker-level inputs on a 12" 10-pin harness. If using speaker-level inputs, a corresponding Audio Sense switch can be set to ON, allowing the amp to automatically power on with an incoming audio signal, and eliminating the need for running a remote turn-on wire from the headunit. If using the RCA inputs, a remote turn-on wire will need to be run from the headunit.

Low-Pass Crossover: The low-pass crossover frequency can be varied from 50Hz to 150Hz for a seamless transition between the output of this unit and that of the other speakers in the vehicle. The crossover has a slope of 12dB per octave.

Bass Boost: The amplifier includes a continuously adjustable bass boost from 0dB to +12dB centered at 50Hz.

Phase Switch: Allows you to select normal or reverse for best bass.

Level: This rotary control determines the amount of input signal, with either high- or low-level inputs, and has the following sensitivity range:

  • Low: 0.1V - 4.0V
  • High: 0.25V - 10V

Power: The power (+12V), ground, and remote turn-on connections are provided on the 12" 10-pin input harness. The amp is protected by a 15A ATO fuse that's pre-installed, and includes a spare 15A fuse.

Mounting: With a height of 2-7/8", the BassLink Mini can be mounted flat under a wide variety of vehicle seats, as well as in the trunks of most vehicles. Mounting brackets and hardware are provided.

Remote Bass Control (RBC): The included Remote Bass Control (RBC) is a wired remote bass knob which allows you control the bass level of your Infinity BassLink Mini remotely from the front of the vehicle. The Remote Bass Control (RBC) comes with a 16.5' cable, terminated in RJ-25 connectors, and features integrated mounting flanges for mounting it under your dash with the provided hardware.

Q
If installing with a factory stereo where the remote wire isn't necessary, is it possible to run the remote wire to a switch which would serve as an on/off switch?
lance  Feb 25, 2024
1 answer
A
It is possible, Lance. When using the speaker-level inputs the Infinity BassLink Mini has an audio sense switch that can be turned to the off position. When in the off position, the 12v turn-on lead would need to be activated for use, and you could run a switch to give yourself on/off features controlled by your custom installed switch.
bo  Feb 26, 2024 (Staff)
Q
Does the sub level knob work as a an on and off switch or do you have to find something to tap into for a remote wire?
ryan  Feb 17, 2024
1 answer
A
Greetings Ryan. Thank you for your question. The remote knob is not an on/off switch. If you have an aftermarket stereo and are using RCA cables to connect the subwoofer, you will need to run a remote turn on wire as well. If you are tapping into the factory radios speaker wires as the signal in, this sub has signal sensing turn on, no remote wire needed in that case.

Q
How do I bypass the active noise canceling in my 2020 Cadillac XT4? Is there a custom harness for this?
paul  Jul 24, 2023
1 answer
A
We provide lifetime Technical Support with every order Paul, so reach out anytime you are having any questions installing any gear you got from us! Make sure to have your order number handy. We do not sell a custom harness option for the bypass, but I have seen them available for those year Cadillacs if you have the Bose package originally from other retailers. You can also disable the ANC microphones, either option will allow you to enjoy the added bass from the Infinity BassLink Mini!
bo  Jul 24, 2023 (Staff)
Q
Do you have to use the adjustable bass knob or can you just set the subwoofer and leave it ?
robert anthony  May 13, 2023
1 answer
A
You are not required to use the bass knob. You can set the subwoofer and leave it. That will work!

Q
If i have a 100w amp to drive a sub, can i use this as a passive speaker for in home use and not power the built in amp?
jame  May 03, 2023
1 answer
A
Thank you for your question, Jame. There's no way to separate the amp from the speaker in this enclosure.
andrea  May 03, 2023 (Staff)
Q
Does this need a separate amp? Can plug it directly to my stock head unit of a rav4 2022 hybrid?
albert  Mar 24, 2023
1 answer
A
This does not require a separate amplifier. It is self-powered. It will not connect directly to your stock head unit as the stock head unit does not provide dedicated outputs for connecting aftermarket subwoofers. Our advisors would be happy to discuss the process for connecting to your vehicle. Please reach out to use via online chat or phone at 1-800-324-9695.

Q
I am looking to install this sub to my 2023 Toyota Tacoma utilizing my factor radio. Would I need to splice a LOC to the radio to connect the RCAs and the remote wire to operate? Or is there a better way?
richard  Jan 19, 2023
1 answer
A
There are several different methods to connect this subwoofer to your system. We'll need more information about your sound system in order to provide the best solution. Please reach out to our advisors via online chat or phone at 1-800-324-9695.

Q
When using speaker level inputs, do you need to hook up to both left and right speakers? I want to put this under my passenger seat and want to just hook up to the closest speaker.
broncodrew  Jul 30, 2022
1 answer
A
It would be necessary to connect both left and right speakers to this unit. Some bass may only be on one speaker or the other. We could miss out on bass if we only connect one speaker.
zachary  Jul 31, 2022 (Staff)
Q
Reciever has sub 1 and sub 2 output. How should you hook this up with it having left and right input?
boating  Jun 08, 2022
1 answer
A
Greetings and thank you for your question. If your stereo has 2 mono sub outputs, you would use 1 of those connected to an RCA Y splitter (our item number 917MSRCAYF), and have that connected to both the left and right input on the Infinity BassLink Mini using a 2 channel RCA patch cable.

Q
Is the cord for base control that looks like a telephone landline cord exactly that? Or is it a different style plug, like the larger version of a phone plug?
jeffrey  May 05, 2021
4 answers
A
It def looks the same, four contacts, about the same size. From memory it looks exactly like a phone plug when I look at the connection to the remote. Cannot confirm 100%, no more land line.
benjamin  May 20, 2021
A
pretty sure it is the same plug, but unsure of the wiring
keith  May 20, 2021
A
Yes that is what it looks like, if I remember right the plug looks like a network patch cable plug
david  May 20, 2021
A
I can't answer because I get a professional installer to connect it in my Pickup truck

Q
Can you tap in to the speaker lines and use the built-in amp for those in addition to the sub?
adam  Mar 16, 2021
1 answer
A
Can you split the line in line level signal? I suppose so. If you are asking whether or not you can use the infinity amp to power an additional/separate speaker, the answer is no.
marshall scott  Mar 16, 2021
Q
Can you tap in to the speaker lines and use the built-in amp for those in addition to the sub?
adam  Mar 16, 2021
2 answers
A
Yes. There is a plug that will allow you to easily wire to speaker wires. I installed this in my Hyundai and it works great!
jim  Mar 16, 2021
A
I am not sure if I understand the question, but I tapped into the speaker wires in my 2021 Subaru and set the head unit EQ to 0 across the board. The sub has crossovers that pick up the appropriate frequencies.if I had the chance to do redo my decision I would go with the kenwood 8 inch unit. I had that in my previous vehicle and it was more dynamic, Rich and powerful
christopher j  Mar 16, 2021
Q
If I use the remote control does it over ride the Gain control on the amp? Thanks
vincent  Feb 23, 2021
3 answers
A
Yes it does. The remote takes control of the gain.
mark a  Feb 23, 2021
A
The remote operates from 0 (silent) to the gain setting controlled by the screw. If the gain is set at maximum then the remote effectively functions as a gain control. If the gain is set at 50% then the remote adjusts from 0 to 50%.
gary  Feb 23, 2021
A
It does not. The max setting on the knob is what you set the gain at.
christopher  Feb 23, 2021
Q
can you install 2 of these and link a single bass controller knob to both?
jeff  Feb 16, 2021
2 answers
A
I don't think so, it is a prewired widget with a phone plug on the amp end if you wanted to do some electrical engineering you could figure out the value of the pot and get a dual pot to wire it yourself, but that is a bit advanced
keith  Feb 16, 2021
A
Based on the connection, my guess would be "no.". However, the controller is pretty small....
donald  Feb 16, 2021
Q
I have a dedicated RCA output on my Fusion Head Unit (marine stereo). My question is can I use that output and connect it to the L/R inputs on the sub, or will I have to do something different?
steve  Dec 07, 2020
2 answers
A
Definite yes. You're very lucky you have this available Low-Input. The drawback behind this wiring setup is you'll need to use the Trigger-On line of the factory radio to activate your Powered Subwoofer.
aristotle  Dec 27, 2020
A
As i was told by the sales support staff, that is a pre-amp out. Since the device is powered, all you have to do is plug it in, and power the speaker and you are all good. Worked for me
chris  Dec 07, 2020
Q
How many channels is this sub?
tom  Dec 01, 2020
5 answers
A
Tom not sure I understand the question. I guess tecnically it is two channel in the sense that I ran a left and right RCA input from my head unit. I use it in an older 911 and it works great. it adds good low end and was easy to install. Dont expect massive bass but for the money and size it works great
michael  Dec 02, 2020
A
It has 2 channel inputs either preamp or speaker level. Of course there is no output
robert  Dec 01, 2020
A
This sub has a one-channel amplifier to power the built in bass speaker.
michael  Dec 01, 2020
A
There are no channels it's a powered subwoofer. Give it a source and some power and it goes bump.
christopher  Dec 01, 2020
A
It's a single self-amped speaker. It'll accept left and right speaker wires, OR an unpowered sub output line (rca) from the car stereo head amp.
james  Dec 01, 2020
Q
How many channels is this sub?
tom  Dec 01, 2020

Sub Woofers usually requires no more than 1 channel. The essence of Bass doesn't require two channels; therefore, 1 speaker only.
aristotle  Dec 27, 2020
A

keith  Dec 02, 2020
A
It has no other conections to other speakers. It's One Speaker and One Amp. But the sound is very much, as if you had a 10' woofer. I LOVEIT!!
mario  Dec 02, 2020
A
There's two input channels, which are blended/mixed/stirred or otherwise used to produce one single output: The single speaker.

What is the sound range of this subwoofer?
ramsey  Nov 25, 2020

A
Because of its sound quality, Its specs are accurately described in the Product Features.
aristotle  Dec 27, 2020

As stated on the box, subwoofer is rated at 100 watts rms, 200 watts max. Frequency response is 30 Hz to 150 Hz.
john  Dec 08, 2020
A
For it's size the range is quite impressive. Very happy with it. It fills in the bass very nice without being over the top.
justin  Dec 07, 2020
Q
Planning on putting this in a Honda Ridgeline that has existing factory sub behind back seat that i would like to keep. Should I tap into those wires or speaker wires coming out of stock head unit? I will run separate line for power.
michael  Nov 25, 2020
4 answers
A
You can run the wires with the factory speaker wires and should be ok.
chris  Dec 04, 2020
A
I tapped into the two rear deck speakers in my Honda Accord and it sounds/feels fantastic to me. I had debated tapping into the stock sub instead, but I wasn't sure if I would be restricted to Honda's tune on the bass and opted otherwise. I imagine that you should be fine either way. I will also warn you to disconnect the ANC (Active Noise Cancelation) module if your Ridgeline has one, because it WILL interfere with an aftermarket sub's performance. Good luck and hope you like the results.
spencer  Dec 04, 2020
A
Hello Michael, i bought this product for my 2004 Camry LE, without JLB or factory Sub. I tap it to front speaker wire. if you have existing subwoofer from factory and you want to tap to OEM sub, i think you would need to know if the OEM sub is just subwoofer speaker or does it has built in amp and filter. if OEM sub is just a just a speaker without built-in amp and filters, that mean, the head unit sending low frequency already tune for the subwoofer speaker, in this case i suggest you tap to speaker wire because speaker wire will be all range of frequency and infinity bass link has built in amp with filter to filter out the low frequency to meet your needs of listening. if OEM sub is similar to infinity bass link, (with built in amp and filter), you will be ok to tap that, most likely. This is just my opinion. you can referee to installation manual as well.
aung  Dec 04, 2020
A
I actually had it installed because I didn't want to mess with the factory head unit. If I was in your spot, I would definitely run a separate power line but I would probably use the existing speaker wire unless you need to add a little more sound to the sub. This unit not only gave some decent bass but made all the speakers sound 1000x better.

Q
Would this be a good choice to use under the seat or in the console in a 2005 Jeep Wrangler? If not do you have any recomendations?
ryan  Nov 24, 2020
9 answers
A
I installed this under the passenger seat in my Subaru Crosstrek it had plenty of space to tuck in the wires and the seat still slides above it with no issue. It does block one of the under seat vents. Of course, I'm talking about a crosstrek and I have no idea the space under your seat but I'd take out the seat and take some measurements then shop around for what fits as that's what I did. you might find some answers to the dimensions question if you search some jeep forums.
sean  Dec 05, 2020
A
Definitely works under the seat. I installed mine under the passenger seat in my 2009 Wrangler 2 door. I don't think you could get it in the console or if you could there would be no space left in console. Would highly recommend this sub. This has been a wonderful addition to my system.
john  Dec 05, 2020
A
i don't know how much clearance you need under your seat. I mounted mine on a 5/8 piece of plywood it sits about 31/4" high and used the front two seat studs to hold the assembly in place
ramon  Dec 05, 2020
A
Not sure about the specific application for a Jeep Wrangler, but I can tell you I am super pleased with the product, the performance and the adjustability, and quality so far. They are not loud per se, earth-shakers to people who are outside of the vehicle. But they provide excellent bass response and a good punch inside my little convertible. I feel the thump in my seat and back.
marshall scott  Dec 05, 2020
A
I installed it in my son's 2004 Subaru Outback. Very tight fit under the passenger seat, which now can't slide all the way back. Plenty of room around the sides; the height is the issue. Sounds GREAT though.
ronald  Dec 05, 2020
A
I installed under the rear passenger side seat. It's small but not small enough to fit in the console. I used to own a 2017 Jeep Wrangler. I remember the middle console being pretty small. For its size it does pack a punch.
joseph  Dec 04, 2020
A
I just installed this sub under the seat of a 2010 2 door Jeep Wrangler. It fits nicely, vastly improved the stereo sound, and is out of the way. I kept the factory head unit/radio and opted not to remove it for installation. Instead, I patched in audio signal from the rear speakers and it worked out nicely. Media converter was not necessary to do this.
christopeher  Dec 04, 2020
A
This device sounds great under the back seat of my Chevy Silverado. I'm very pleased with it. It came with everything needed for a professional installation.
lee  Dec 04, 2020

This would be a perfect choice for your wrangler!

Q
How would you hook this to a 2018 ecosport if they recommend not to change the factory unit? Is there Amp hookups on the factory deck?
andy  Nov 24, 2020
5 answers
A
I would recommend using a line output converter, me personally i prefer a passive one such as the PAC SNI-35. its very easy to use. more simplified than the others and it works! i would look into forums and any speaker color code information for your specific vehicle online before pulling the trigger. if you are unsure then Crutchfield should be able to help or you can get your product installed professionally if you're uncomfortable.
eli  Jan 06, 2021
A
You'll need the vehicle Service Manual to traced the wiring color codes and location.
aristotle  Dec 27, 2020
A
Sorry...I can't answer this specifically. I would believe the Crutchfield techs would be better suited to answer.
bernard  Dec 04, 2020
A
I took mine to a local stereo shop. I was told that they hooked up to factory speaker leads for the high low converter. They did not do anything near the head unit to connect this. Sounds good for the size
hector  Dec 04, 2020
A
To the speaker don't use the RC jacks and the power to the battery

Q
Already have a Kicker key amplifier hooked up to the battery in the trunk of my 2006 Saturn Ion. Is there somewhere I can hook up my subwoofer in my engine compartment to battery voltage?
roy  Oct 11, 2020
2 answers
A
The car should have a battery terminal in the engine compartment and can use that for the hot line.
larry  Oct 30, 2020
A
There should be a positive post under the hood used for boosting your vehicle. Use this for power and ground to any metal surface. Hope this helps.

Usually, the best 12V source is from a cigarette lighter; however, not too familiar electrically with eco/hybrid vehicles.

Q
Will this match up with a 2013 Hyundai Elantra factory system?
phil  Sep 10, 2020
1 answer
A
This unit is designed to be compatible with any car radio. In order to further help you in your wirings is to research for the 2013 Hyundai Elantra Service Manual; this has significantly helped my wiring correctly. The most obvious way is using the radio's speaker wirings; Infinity BassLink Mini has a Switch to select High Input Mode, Auto Turn-On.

Yes, but do not listen to music on auxiliary without the engine running. In a car like my Honda HR-V, this kills the battery quickly.
